Look, I realize its easy to get caught up in the moment at a concert and let your emotions get the best of you (especially after several overpriced alcoholic beverages), but can we all just agree that we shouldnt throw things at the artists we pay to hear sing?
Yes, Im talking to the fan who decided to hurlan object at Justin Bieber after he refused to sing Despacito at a concert in Stockholm on Saturday.
Youve got to give the Biebs an A for honesty, in this case. He told the rambunctious crowd calling forhim to sing Luis Fonsis hit, which hes featured on, along with Daddy Yankee,
I cant do Despacito because I dont even know it I dont know the song. I cant do it.
The chart-topping track is admittedly catchy, but anyone who has been paying attention already knows Bieber doesnt know the lyrics, which in his defense are mostly in Spanish.
While performing at New York Citys 1 OAK last month, Bieber attempted to sing Despacito, but ended up replacing the words with blah, blah, blah, blah.
Yeah, that didnt go over well.Once the video surfaced, not only did he get roasted for not knowing the words to a song he collaborated on, he also got called out for being culturally offensive.
Fonsi came to Biebers defense after the incident, telling,
That chorus is not easy to sing, even for fluent Spanish singers like myself. Its got a lot of lyrics, its kind of tongue-twisty.
So its really not surprising the 23-year-old refused to sing the song on tour, and one particular fans reaction of throwing something at him in response is definitely inexcusable.
After adeptly dodging the object, Bieber calmly said,
Whoa, dont throw things at me, please.
I get that Justin Bieber is usually a pretty easy target to hate on based on some of the questionable choices he makes, but maybe dont go to his concerts if you arent a Belieber? Just a thought.
