Back in 2015, DJ David Mueller sued Taylor for defamation after he lost his job when the singer accused him of groping her at a meet and greet. In response, the Shake It Off musician countersued for battery and assault.
This August, the case will head to trial, and Miz Swift is hoping to school the Colorado disc jockey by enlisting someone who works at one!

Lorraine Bayard de Volo — a professor of gender studies at the University of Colorado — has written a report where she says Mueller felt emasculated when Taylor paid more attention to his girlfriend at the meet and greet than to him!
“In Mr. Mueller’s description of the events, though Ms. Swift was cold and standoffish with him, she had a positive rapport with Ms. Melcher that included hugging and compliments. Mr. Mueller said that he felt “invisible” in the shadow of his girlfriend… Given that idealized masculinity entails dominance, leadership, authority, and assertiveness, this encounter would register as a blow to his sense of masculinity.”
David has filed a motion to toss this analysis because de Yolo is neither a trained psychologist nor an expert witness. Because the teacher has never met him, Mueller says she doesn’t have the right to evaluate his behavior.
Either way, no one deserves to be sexually assaulted, no matter the reason!
