The Shape Of You singer says he isn’t worried about copycats imitating his work, because he’s confident in his ability to come out on top:

“There are a lot of singer-songwriters around now. I’m not the first but there are more than before. I’m very happy for everyone to be in the same race as me, even if they copy every single thing I’ve done. In a 100m sprint to get a No1 album I just know I’m going to win. I don’t care who’s doing what. I just know I’m going to win. I’m going to make sure I come first.”

With that said, there’s one person the songwriter is coming for… Adele:

“Adele is the one person who’s sold more records than me in the past ten years. She’s the only person I need to sell more records than. That’s a big fucking feat because her last album sold 20 million. But if I don’t set her as the benchmark then I’m selling myself short. I’m not in competition [creatively] because we all sit in our own lanes, but once the creative product is out there is a race to the finish line.”

But what about his bestie Taylor Swift??

Explaining his similarities to the 27-year-old pop star, Sheeran shares:

“There’s an underdog element to it. Taylor was never the popular kid in school. I was never the popular kid in school. Then you get to the point when you become the most popular kid in school and we both take it a bit too far. She wants to be the biggest female artist in the world and I want to be the biggest male artist in the world. It also comes from always being told that you can’t do something and being like, Fuck you. I can.'”

They certainly aren’t the underdogs anymore!!

Donald Trump May Think Madonna Is ‘Disgusting’ Now, But He Didn’t When He Posed As His Own Publicist See What He Said THEN!

He criticized Madonna’s speech during the Women’s March this past Saturday, saying:

“Honestly, she’s disgusting. I think she hurt herself very badly. I think she hurt the whole cause. I thought her, and a couple of others. But I thought she was in particularI thought what she said was disgraceful to our country.”

Never mind that everything Drumpf does is a literal disgrace to our country, he was referring to Madonna’s “blowing up the White House” comments that she has since apologized for. But there was a time when Trump was all up in Madge’s business, desperate to get a date with her.

When he was rebuffed, he posed as his own publicist “John Miller” to pretend the whole thing had never happened. Sad!

In the audio of the conversation between “John Miller” and People‘s Sue Carswell, obtained by The Washington Post in May 2016, “Miller” attempts to refute rumors of his pursuit of the pop star, saying:

“Madonna was in the room, and so somebody from Madonna’s entourage, because she comes in with an entourage of dancers and everything else, and somebody from Madonna’s entourage came over and said, Would you go over and say hello to Madonna?’ And so [Trump] went over and said hello to Madonna and he gave his autograph to the dancers. She said, These are fans’ and all this. Will you give them the autograph?’ So he said, Best wishes’ or something. And then all of a suddenand that was the end. And then he said goodbye to her and that was literally the end. He’s got zero interest in Madonna. It was literally the end.”

Doesn’t it seem like he doth protest too much???

“Miller” continued:

“And the next day in the newspapers, they had a story that he wanted to go out with her and everything else. Well, she called and wanted to go out with him, that I can tell you.”

Riiiiight. We’re sure that’s exactly what happened.

And you know what? We might have believed the guy if the evidence of his humongonormous ego wasn’t such common knowledge.

There’s no way Mr. Pumpkinhead would take getting rejected lightly. It’s just like him to pretend that he’s the one who did the rejecting. LOSER!!!

The Girls Just Want To Have Fun singer either didn’t catch wind of this clarification or didn’t care because she went on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday and slammed her fellow pop queen’s “angry” speech.

Miz Lauper told Andy Cohen:

“I don’t think that it served our purpose. Anger is not better than clarity and humanity. That is what opens people’s minds.”

The 63-year-old went on to point out Scarlett Johansson‘s speech as an example of a more productive conversation starter:

“It was clear, it was eloquent. Yelling just jacks people up. It doesn’t communicate any kind of humanity or story that would open another person’s mind.”

Madonna denies trying to adopt two more children from Malawi

Reports say the singer, who has two adopted children from the country, appeared in court in Lilongwe with two unidentified children

Madonna has denied reports that she has travelled to Malawi to adopt two more children from the country.

News reports citing a spokesman for a court in the countrys capital, Lilongwe, said the singer had appeared before it to lodge an application for adoption, but Madonna dismissed them as rumours.

Detailed reports in local media described tight security at the court, with Madonna appearing before Justice Fiona Mwale and accompanied by two unidentified children and several other people.

Mlenga Mvula, spokesman for Lilongwe high court, told the Agence France-Presse news agency: The court is looking at the application now to determine whether Madonna can adopt these two children.

Madonna denied she had been seeking an adoption. Speaking via a publicist, she told the Guardian: I am in Malawi to check on the childrens hospital in Blantyre and my other work with Raising Malawi [her charity], and then heading home. The rumours of an adoption process are untrue.

Madonna has adopted two children from Malawi: David Banda in 2006 and Mercy James in 2009. She founded the charity Raising Malawi and is building the first paediatric hospital in the country, which is among the worlds poorest. She was photographed visiting the site, at Queen Elizabeth hospital, last July.

The singer also has two biological children, Lourdes Leon and Rocco Ritchie. Last September she lost a custody battle with her ex-husband, film director Guy Ritchie, over Rocco, 16, that ensured he will remain in the UK.

In December, Madonna raised more than $7.5m (5.9m) for Raising Malawi at a benefit gig and auction at which she grabbed headlines by saying Donald Trump made her ashamed to be an American.

Her adoptions from the country have proved controversial, partly because both children still had living family members. Bandas father said in an interview he had not understood the legal implications of the adoption process, and that he regretted giving up the little boy.

Former president Joyce Banda published a blistering press release in 2013 saying the singer wants Malawi to be forever chained to the obligation of gratitude for adopting children from the country, and excoriating her for expecting the government to roll out a red carpet and blast the 21-gun salute in honour of her visits.

The controversy also led Malawis government to review its laws governing adoption from overseas to make sure they serve the best interests of the children, a Malawian government source told the Guardian.

But Bandas successor, Peter Mutharika, has struck a more conciliatory tone, thanking the star on behalf of his government for the passion Madonna has for this country.
